Changelog — Attestra
Release history

What's shipped, and when.

Attestra has shipped continuously since January 2022. Features land every few months, security fixes ship the day they're ready, and every release is free while your licence is active.

Multi-page documents, and a screen for uploading them

  • FixedA multi-page document showed every one of its pages stacked down the verification page instead of one at a time. The pager and its counter were there underneath, reading “Page 1 of 5” while all five sat above it.
  • FixedThe same pager did nothing at all on a result that arrived after the page had loaded — which is most of them, since typing an ID or landing on a cached page both replace the panel. Multi-page documents now page properly however the result reached the screen.
  • ImprovedUploading your own document is a screen built for it rather than a file box in a sidebar. Drop a file anywhere on the panel, see it at a size worth judging, and place the QR code on a preview several times larger than before.
  • ImprovedThe QR code can now be repeated in the same spot on every page of a multi-page document, for reports whose pages get separated and handed over on their own.
  • ImprovedAdmin screens use the whole width of a large monitor. A column was being reserved for a panel that no screen has, so on a wide display roughly a quarter of it sat empty while the panels that do exist were squeezed into what was left.

Check a certificate by uploading it

  • NewVerify by uploading the certificate itself. Drop in a PDF, JPG or PNG — or a photograph of a printed one — and Attestra works out which credential it refers to, then checks it against the register exactly as a typed ID would be.
  • NewA built-in QR reader, so a photograph or screenshot verifies even when the file carries nothing else identifying it. It copes with any rotation, camera noise and uneven lighting.
  • NewDownload a certificate as a PDF, a JPEG or a PNG. Holders see the buttons on a verified result; administrators see them on the credential itself.
  • NewDownload certificates for many credentials at once. Select them and the archive arrives with a spreadsheet listing which file belongs to whom.
  • NewBatches. Set up a cohort once — a class, an intake, a round of renewals — paste in the names, and issue, download, email or rebuild the whole group together.
  • NewBatches can be managed from the Credentials list, assigned during a CSV import, or named in a column so one spreadsheet covers several cohorts.
  • NewCertificate protection. The verification page shows a reduced-resolution copy and the print-resolution original stops being reachable by its own address. Right-click, dragging and printing are blocked too, though those are a deterrent rather than protection — no website can stop a screenshot, and Attestra does not pretend otherwise.
  • ImprovedAttestra now matches your site's colours by itself, reading the accent from Elementor's global colours, your theme's palette or its settings. Text on that colour is chosen by measuring contrast, so a pale accent gets dark text rather than an unreadable button.
  • ImprovedPage builder support. Styles now load in the document head for any page carrying an Attestra shortcode, including layouts stored in builder data rather than post content, and inside the Elementor editor.
  • ImprovedThe verification page is no longer created automatically on activation. Choose any page you have already built, or press a button to have one generated.
  • FixedPretty verification URLs now follow the page you choose. The rule was tied to the /verify slug, so pointing Attestra at your own page left scanned codes landing on a 404.
  • FixedThe Templates screen could fail outright on PHP 8 when showing a preview thumbnail.
  • FixedRedrawing a certificate left previously generated PDF and JPEG copies in place, so downloads in those formats kept serving the old design.
  • FixedPer-category copy protection never actually ran, and buttons could render as unreadable outlines on themes that restyle them.

Clearer licence messages and the new home

  • ImprovedAttestra now runs on attestrasolutions.online. Pricing links, documentation and update checks all point at the new address, and existing installs move across on their own.
  • FixedA licence key issued for a different site produced a warning that named your own domain twice — "registered to example.com but the site is running on example.com". It now names the domain the key actually belongs to, so the mismatch is obvious at a glance.
  • FixedA rejected key no longer overwrites the stored record of the licence your site legitimately holds.

Verification speed and bulk tooling

  • NewCSV import profiles — save a column mapping once and reuse it for every future import.
  • NewBatch PDF export for a whole category, delivered as a single zip.
  • ImprovedVerification lookups are roughly 40% faster on large record sets thanks to a new index on credential ID.
  • ImprovedThe lookup portal now handles a mistyped ID gracefully instead of returning a blank result.
  • FixedFixed landscape PDFs clipping the signature block on certain A4 printer margins.
  • FixedExpiry transitions no longer skip a day for sites running a non-UTC timezone.

First public release

  • NewIssue credentials with categories, holder details and a public record page.
  • NewQR code on every record, pointing at your own verify URL.
  • New

Scanning the QR code on a certificate brings you straight here with the ID filled in.

The file is read to find which credential it refers to, then checked against the register. It is not kept.

shortcode for a lookup portal on your domain.
  • NewPortrait PDF export.

Updating is safe. Attestra never changes your credential data on upgrade. We'd still recommend a database backup before any plugin update — that's good practice regardless of who wrote the plugin.

Stay on the latest release.

An active licence includes every update for a year, plus support from the people who wrote it.
